Hamed Mahzoon is an industrial designer and creative director
specializing in furniture, lighting, and product design.
His practice explores the relationship between function,
material, form, and human experience, combining conceptual
thinking with a practical understanding of design development,
production, and real-world application.
Alongside his design practice, Hamed is the
Editor-in-Chief and Content Manager at Designooor
,
an international lighting design media platform. He leads the
platform’s editorial and content direction, overseeing content
strategy, visual content, research, curation, publishing,
and editorial development. His role extends beyond writing
to shaping how lighting projects, designers, and ideas are
researched, selected, presented, and communicated to an
international audience. He has written and edited more than
a hundred pieces focused on lighting design and visual culture.
Hamed’s design work has received international recognition
through distinctions including the
ICONIC Award by the German Design Council,
NYCxDESIGN Award,
A’ Design Award, and multiple honors from the
International Design Awards (IDA).
His work has also been presented through exhibitions and
international design platforms, giving his projects visibility
beyond competition recognition.
His professional practice includes collaborations with
international companies and design studios. In collaboration

Nick Scali

Hamed designed the
Monolitha Collection
,
taking responsibility for the design of the collection from
concept through to its realization. The collection progressed
into production and commercial distribution, connecting his
design practice directly with the international furniture market.
His work has also received editorial attention, including
coverage of his
Crown Shell
design in Honar Newspaper, reflecting the broader
cultural and design relevance of his work. Crown Shell has
also been recognized internationally and presented through
design exhibitions and platforms.
Across his work, he combines industrial design, design research,
