Monolitha Collection

Monolitha draws from two interconnected sources of inspiration. The first is the concept of the monolith: a singular, massive entity perceived as a coherent and indivisible whole. The second is Uluru in Australia, a natural monolithic formation whose strong visual presence emerges from its mass, continuity, and restrained form. These references informed the collection’s approach to unified volumes, structural clarity, and material presence.

The central concept of Monolitha is to generate an entire furniture and lighting collection through one controlled structural logic. Instead of designing each product as an independent object, the collection establishes a common relationship between dominant masses and expressive supporting volumes. Proportion, structure, and material hierarchy remain consistent across different typologies, allowing each object to function independently while maintaining a recognizable collective identity.

The design process began by defining a single structural rule and testing its potential across different scales and functions. The initial form was progressively refined through studies of proportion, mass distribution, support, and negative space. This logic was then translated into six typologies: Coffee Table, Dining Table, Console Table, Buffet, TV Entertainment Unit, and Floor Lamp. Each variation adapts the same underlying system to its specific functional requirements.

Calacatta Viola marble defines the material identity of Monolitha through its distinctive violet-grey veining and naturally expressive surface. Rather than treating the marble as a decorative finish, the design allows its inherent variation, depth, and visual movement to become part of the objects’ architectural character. Each surface reveals a unique stone pattern, creating subtle individuality within the collection while maintaining the unified structural language of Monolitha.
